The following questions are drawn from widely recognised responsible gambling screening frameworks. Answer them honestly — for yourself, not for anyone else.
Ask yourself these questions:
Have I ever spent more money gambling than I originally planned to?
Have I gambled to escape from worry, boredom, unhappiness, or personal difficulties?
Have I ever tried to win back money I had already lost (chasing losses)?
Has gambling ever made my home life less happy or caused arguments with family?
Have I ever borrowed money or sold anything to fund gambling?
Have I missed work, school, or important commitments because of time spent gambling?
Have I ever felt the need to hide my gambling activity from people close to me?
Have I felt restless or irritable when trying to stop or cut down on gambling?
If you answered yes to two or more of these questions, consider speaking with a professional counsellor or reaching out to one of the support organisations listed below. Answering honestly is the first and most important step.
